There we go!

Well, I finally figured out how to get access to my old blogger site. Looks like that old gmail account I never really used came in handy. =) That being said, as I mentioned in the comments of the previous post, I am now posting on my official AAC web log in both English and Japanese. For the latest developments in my life and career, please go to the official AAC site. Hope to see you there!

Into the wilderness

So starting this Tuesday I will be spending two weeks in the woods of Fukushima (about four hours from Tokyo). We wil be filming the sequel (although only an hour and a half special) to the TV series I was involved with last year. For some reason, it hasn't really sunk in that we are actually going to film this thing. I am guessing it will be a very intense month of filming, but it is only a month. Quite different than the seven months we spent on it last time. Well, if nothing else, it will be nice seeing familiar faces in the staff and cast. I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes once I am back in civilization. Wish me luck!

As good as it gets

So I took some new profile pictures yesterday. My but don't I look dashing. Of course, if you think about it, a profile picture is taken by a professional camera man after you have had your hair and make-up done, all of which is designed to make you look your best. Which is to say, this is as good looking as I am ever going to get. Slightly disturbing if you put a little too much thought into it.

Oops

So my efforts to make weekly updates on this blog almost went down the tubes today. Well, technically I guess I missed the deadline (at least here in Japan), but hey, I figure you all will give me a break. Especially seeing as... NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT THIS BLOG YET!

Perhaps I should actually TELL my family and friends that I have a blog. It would make sence on SO many levels. Well, I guess that is just something else to add to my list of things to do...

Today's random picture of the week: Pink urinals. Does anyone else find this slightly disturbing? It gives you the feeling of "Oh, I'm sorry, I must be in the wrong bathroom," regardless of what sex you are. Whose idea was this???

Already???

Only one week goes by and already I have a new demo reel. Well, actually, the old one is several months old and I re-editied it because of an audition I have coming up. I must say, though, that I like this new one much better. Unless I find myself doing some outragous stunts in the near future, this one is probably going to last me for a while.
So the new goal in life is to make an entry in this thing once a week. Not TOO difficult right now, seeing as I am not really filming anything at the moment, but I can't say what will happen once I have to start traveling to distant locations and not getting much sleep.

What am I?

Okay, I guess we all saw that one coming. But again, trying to stay on topic, what am I? Well, I am half-Japanese half American. I am a martial artist. I am a stuntman. I am an actor. I am a friend. I am an enemy. I am a poet. I am a lover. I am.. Okay, somebody please stop me.

So now REALLY trying to get back on topic. I am currently a member of a stunt team here in Japan. I get paid to dress up in rubber and plastic hero costumes, stunt double for various actors, and do the motion for numerous video game characters in addition to occationally getting roles in the projects that my team is involved in. In all honesty, I am now feeling that I would rather be moving more towards acting than stunt work, but for the moment I am a stuntman and I take my job very seriously. As for what the future holds, well I guess you will all just have to keep reading now won't you?

Where am I?

Or maybe I should say, "Where have I been?" As usual, whenever I come up with a new plan to stay in touch with people, it usually falls apart in a matter of weeks. (I guess this one only lasted about a day.) But getting back to the subject at hand...

I am currently living in Tokyo, Japan. I have been here for close to SEVEN YEARS now. Kinda crazy seeing as before going to college I really had very little intention in leaving the east coast (of America) let alone the country. I was born in a small rural town in northeastern Japan (Rikuzentakata, Iwate), raised in a small rural town in northeastern America (Buckfield, Maine), and attended college in yet another small rural northeastern American town (Hanover, New Hampshire). Not a big fan of the city, but then there isn't really much work in the backwoods, so you have to go where the jobs are. I suppose you get used to the city after a while, but I am probably more of a country boy at heart.
